Big Moments

June 6, 2016 — 1 Comment

Hi, Friends!

Now that I am 4 plus years into being a dad, I truly have a different perspective about being a wedding videographer. I’ve talked about this before, but the father/daughter dance gets me in my gizzard every. single. time! I can’t help but think of my sweet little 4 year old Ruby while watching other dads struggle through that monumental time with his once little girl. Honestly, I am not looking forward to that moment for myself and my daughter…I won’t be able to handle it!

Lori and I are often taken aback on how fast time flies; which is usually followed by a huge punch to the gut with guilt…Am I doing enough to fill my kid’s love cup? Are my kids going to survive my weird antics? Will they want to hang out with me and Lori when they’re teenagers? Are they following Jesus? You know, most of the regular questions parents ask one another.

With all that being said, this past weekend I experienced my first encounter of missing a big moment of little Ruby’s life…Her dance recital! As most other wedding vendors know, wedding season weekends are tied up with other families; sharing in their big day. It’s a true honor to be a part of those times with our clients, but it was a bit of a downer that I had to miss sweet Ruby’s dance recital. Thank goodness for dress rehearsals! Hopefully next year I will be a better scheduler!

Below is a short clip of Ruby’s big moment on stage.

IRONMAN Matt

Hi, Friends!

It is always a great honor when a previous NiLo bride recommends us or would like to use our services for another project!

Back in 2012, I had the privilege to capture Jennifer and Matt’s most special day…I absolutely loved their wedding, and I truly admired them as a couple. When Jennifer contacted me late last year, I was thrilled to help her with a new project.

Matt, a stud, competed in his first IRONMAN competition in Louisville, Kentucky. Jennifer emailed asking if I could put together a montage highlighting the big event. As one who gets winded walking up a flight of stairs, I can’t imagine how difficult competing in a swim-run-bike event must have been!

I’m proud of Matt and his accomplishment in competing in such a hardcore event, but more so (selfishly, I know) I’m honored to have had the opportunity to create a montage for Jennifer and Matt to have in remembrance of his efforts.

Congratulations, Matt!

My Proposal {2005}

August 25, 2012 — 2 Comments

Hi, Friends!

Seven years ago, on September 3rd, I asked the love of my life to marry me! A lot of things have happened in seven years!! Just think, we all had no idea what an iPhone was! That’s weird!!

Below is the video I made to capture, at that time, the biggest and best thing that I was going to do. I was so unbelievably nervous!!

Just a little background about my proposal plot…At the time, 2005, I was working for Cox Media as a commercial producer. As a disguise, I made up a big fat lie that I had an assignment to produce a commercial for a local magazine, Entertainment Fort Smith. The rest of the story is captured in the video below.

I said some really cheesy stuff, so please don’t hold it against me :).

Howdy!!

I can’t believe I have not yet blogged about this very cool video we did a few months ago! Sorry!!

Here is a link to this fabulous venue’s Facebook page…You should like them!!

Happy Thanksgiving, friend-os!

Last week, two of our very best friends welcomed their sweet little baby girl into this world, and I had the great honor of capturing some footage of the evening.

Below is one of the most gratifying videos I’ve every made.

Our New Dot Com!

February 13, 2011 — 2 Comments

Let’s Blog!

Lori and I are thrilled about our newest project- the NEW niloproductions.com! Same address, but now with a fancier interface.

I’m not sure how many of you have kept up with the whole flash vs. html stuff, but it’s been a pretty big deal (for us geeks who care). Apple has been at the forefront of the so called “anti-flash movement” by not allowing flash-type sites to run on many of their new products, including the iPhone and iPad. Well, that’s stinks for us, because 1) our website is a flash-based site, B) we love our Apple products, and D)…well, I’m not sure what the reason is for D, but I am sure it would a good one!

So, what does all of this have to do with our new website? Everything! We want you to be able view our work whenever and wherever you are…iPhone, iPad, some little kid’s Nintendo thingy- whatever the case, you are now able to stay connected with our new dot com!
