Hi friends! I just wanted to take some time to talk with you a little about something we believe is pretty important…Recycling. Lori and I try to do our part as much as we can, but we can definetly do more.
One thing we really try hard at doing is recycling the used batteries we go through during our shoots. You wouldn’t believe the amount of batteries we use during a wedding season. Did you know that batteries contain heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, and nickel, which can contaminate the environment when they are improperly disposed of (that probably sounding very nerdy…sorry!).
I realize recycling doesn’t always fit into our busy schedules, but I’ve got a pretty easy system…I have a small box in my office dedicated to used batteries, and when the box gets too full I bag it up and take the used batteries to the recycling palace- a.k.a Staples. That’s right, Staples!
It’s pretty easy…Just drop of your old batteries with one of the sometimes friendly associates at Staples and then you’re done…You’ve recycled! You should really try it…It will make your food taste better :).
P.S. Staples will also take your old computers, fax machines, ink toner cartariges, and some other stuff. To learn a little more about their recycling services, please click here. And if you’re a Staples executive reading this- you may send me a check, gift card, or even a package of blue Bic pens.
