I find it amazing how God’s plan is always in motion…People, places, events; God is always at work. Over the past weekend, Lori was rear-ended as she was stopped waiting for on-coming traffic to pass so she could turn into Stone Chapel at Matt Lane Farm. She was to be the second videographer for Chris and Lucy’s fabulous ceremony. To make a long story short, she was taken off in an ambulance to get medical attention at the hospital.
Reeling from shock, I had to make the decision to continue-on and film the ceremony that was to take place in thirty minutes. Not knowing what to do, I called Dale Benfield, and he came to the rescue. (Dale just happened to be in-town, because Jenessa Bailey, Chris and Lucy’s wedding cordinator, asked him to block this date off from his calender.) Dale immediatly dropped what he was doing, with no questions asked, and rushed over to Goshen with his little red-headed sidekick Ellie to help. With only a little frantic direction, Dale took to video like a pro. I, on the other hand, was beside myself and couldn’t hardly pull it together. I was worried about my best friend!
After Chris and Lucy said their “I do’s,” I knew I couldn’t make it through the reception, so I asked Dale if he would capture it for me. Without hesitation, he immediately took over. With a little help from our dear friend Amy Hannon, at Sincerely Yours, Ellie went to play at her house, so Dale could unleash his inner videographer at Chris and Lucy’s reception.
That night was unforgettable in so many ways. Lori is ok now…Very sore, suffering from a broken nose, and sad about her car; but thankful for God’s grace and His many blessings. Our friends that Lori and I have made over the past few years have been true blessings, and we are extremely thankful for them.
Thank you Amy, Jenessa, and Julie for being such a great comfort and help during our time of need…And thank you Digidy Dale for being a true friend and going above and beyond to help!!!
